Jimmy D’s is a casual American eatery set in a fun-filled, vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of the 60s and 70s. The décor revolves around iconic music albums of the period, complemented by fanciful lighting over cozy booths.
The menu features fresh takes on American classics for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fully licensed, there’s something here for everyone, from delicious milkshakes to sophisticated cocktails, a children’s menu and all-day breakfast. It’s fun and affordable, so come as you are to Jimmy D’s!
Amour, elsker, and liefde each translate to love in their respective languages. To chef Jen Doughty, food and family are the words for love. Her passion for cooking led her to her pursuit of a Culinary Arts degree from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Over her twenty years in the industry, Jen has worked under several prestigious chefs, such as Mark Miller and Michel Richard, and in renowned restaurants including Domaine Chandon and Auberge du Soleil. She moved up through the ranks starting as a dishwasher, then working all positions on the line, ultimately attaining the role of Executive Chef and restaurateur along the way.
In 2016, Jen received the elite invitation to join the Chaine des Rotisseurs, an acclaimed international association of gastronomy, as a professional member. Her role as an educator via the knife and pan continues to inspire and pave the road for many of her understudies. Julia Child said, “The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking you’ve got to have a what-the-hell attitude.” This is exactly what she instills in the future generation of chefs she so proudly mentors, including the youngest aspiring cooks through the Cooking with Kids program at the local elementary school level.
Jen revels in innovation, constantly pushing her own boundaries with a view to total inclusivity and gracious hospitality for Santa Fe and its citizens. Paying homage to the Slow Food Movement, Jen is excited to exhibit her talents and passions for the multifaceted cultures and all generations of Santa Fe, as Executive Chef for Santa Fe’s newest American restaurant, Jimmy D’s.
Restaurant General Manager
Stu Dickson was raised in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. He was surrounded by a large family that loved to cook, which inspired him to pursue the restaurant business as a career. Starting as a dishwasher, he quickly moved to the front of the house as a bartender, server and eventually manager. It was in restaurant management that he found his true calling.
In 1979 he moved to Sarasota, Florida, where he spent 18 years working for the Magic Moment and Summerhouse restaurants. In this tourist-driven market he honed his hospitality skills and was mentored by several successful restaurateurs. In 1997 he took a position with the Tommy Bahama restaurant group and eventually held lead positions at their Sarasota, Palm Desert, Scottsdale, Naples and Plano locations. He relocated in 2018 to Santa Fe to join the NM Fine Dining group as General Manager of their new Jimmy D’s location.
Stu’s outgoing personality and high energy are personal trademarks. And the dynamic hospitality environment that Santa Fe promotes will be a perfect venue for him to express his commitment to the guest, You!
